MARCH NEWS:
March Special Events
6th - Winter Carnival
13th - Beach Day
16th - 20th Spring Break
Our school has been buzzing with energy, kindness, and creativity as students take part in a wide range of meaningful events and exciting activities. Pink Shirt Day brought our community together in a powerful show of unity, reminding everyone of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another. February also gave students the chance to explore and honour Black History Month through stories of resilience, leadership, and cultural contributions that continue to shape our world. The Olympics gave our students an opportunity to explore the power of resilience, perseverance, and the global community.
We were also fortunate to welcome the SPCA, who led thoughtful sessions on empathy, emotions, and caring for animals in some of our classrooms. These visits helped students make connections between understanding animal behaviour and understanding their own feelings.
Our students have been busy outside the classroom too. The JHL, continues in the gym, and grades 1 and 2 students have been full of energy during dodgeball, learning cooperation, sportsmanship, and healthy play.
Across the school, students have been exploring their interests through a variety of clubs. The Crochet Club encourages creativity and patience, while the Chess Club sharpens strategy and problem‑solving. Dance Club offers a fun space for expression and confidence, and the Friends and Allies Club helps students build leadership and inclusive friendships. The Healthy Schools Squad continues to promote wellness and positive habits throughout the school.
Our intermediate athletes have also been representing us with pride. The girls volleyball team and boys basketball team have shown dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the court.
With so many activities, clubs, and special events happening, students have plenty of ways to get involved, build friendships, and enjoy a truly great school experience. Our community continues to shine thanks to the enthusiasm of our students, the support of families, and the commitment of our amazing staff.
We are looking forward to Winter Carnival on Friday March 6th (weather permitting) and Beach Day on March 13th.
